How To Avoid Retractions And Publish Ethically?
Dear author,
Don't we all dread the word "retraction"? It’s most likely that you are reading this because you never want your manuscript to suffer this fate. Your concerns are completely valid.
Today, retractions are on the rise owing to increased instances of ethical violations. Journal editors and reviewers are advising authors to be more aware of publishing guidelines so that they don't violate the ethical norms of publishing.
You may not be violating these norms intentionally. But you may still end up doing this accidentally.
This course talks about five different ethical violations in the research context and shares useful case studies, tips, and guidelines on avoiding these issues. The purpose of this course is to sift through tons of already existing material and to bring to you a succinct summary of the ethics issue prevalent in the industry, the implications of misconduct, the dos and don’ts, and the guidelines.
I hope that by the end of this course, you will be able to
- Understand the significance of ethics in publication and the problems that lead to unethical behavior
- Avoid ethical issues in your writing and reduce your chances of a rejection or a retraction
- Learn about ethical practices to be avoided or practiced through case studies and experiences from peers in the industry
